Webinar: Get Reliability Right From the Start

October 1, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Product reliability is key to avoiding product failures, product returns and customer dissatisfaction. As noted by reliability expert (and lead for the webinar) Fred Schenkelberg, “The focus for reliability is to create a product that meets or exceeds customer expectations for with respect to reliability.”

There are tools, techniques, and an established base of knowledge to accomplish answers to two fundamental product development questions:

WHAT will fail?
WHEN will it fail?

This webinar will look at the tools and plans for a reliability program that helps you bring a quality product to market, and protect your company’s reputation.

Risk Assessment: applying our knowledge of failure mechanisms to identify weaknesses in a particular design when exposed to the use environment.
FMEA Failure Mode and Effect Analysis;
Discovery evaluations,
Environmental and stress testing.

We will also:
– Look at how knowledge of failures permits us enables companies to recognize likely failures and minimize their existence or mitigate their effect.

– Examine how a reliability engineer can work to understand failure mechanisms well enough to find engineering solutions (root cause analysis) plus model and predict future failures (physics of failure modeling). [put this bullet after the first one]
